Felicia van Andel, a WOMEN Inc. expert, points out, “There’s still a lot of ignorance around this issue. If you’re passed over for a job just because you’re pregnant, that’s discrimination! It also counts if you miss out on a raise, contract extension, or promotion because of your pregnancy. This impacts young mothers, too!”

Our campaign aims to shine a spotlight on pregnancy discrimination in the workplace, making it a hot topic for discussion. Calamity Jane crafted this initiative with a twist—let’s focus on the positives! Instead of dwelling on the negatives, we want employers to flex their muscles as female-friendly organizations that truly support pregnancy and motherhood. Hiring a pregnant woman?
